Rosneft says Russia’s Bashneft discovers 5 fields in 2017

MOSCOW, Mar 30 (PRIME) -- Russian oil company Bashneft, a subsidiary of oil major Rosneft, has discovered five oil fields in the republic of Bashkortostan and in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District in 2017 with a combined reserves of 6.9 million tonnes under the C1 and C2 categories, Rosneft said in a statement on Friday.

Bashneft’s subsidiary Sorovskneft discovered the Severo-Ityakhinskoye field with oil reserves of 4.3 million tonnes under the C1 and C2 categories in the year. Another subsidiary, Bashneft-Dobycha, discovered four fields in Bashkortostan – the Kiparisovoye, Telekeyevskoye, Abdukayevskoye, and Anastasyinskoye fields – with the combined reserves of 2.6 million tonnes of oil, Rosneft said.

Success of exploratory drilling amounted to 84% in 2017, overshooting the result of 2016, the company said.

As of December 31, 2016, recoverable reserves of oil and condensate of Bashneft and its subsidiaries stood at 537.2 million tonnes under the A, B1, and C1 categories and 146 million tonnes under the B2 and C2 categories.
